MAJOR FUNCTION:

The HIM Chart Completion Specialist ensures that all discharged Inpatient (IP), Outpatient (OP), Same Day Surgery (SDS), and Emergency Room (ER) charts are reviewed for all the necessary charting elements in accordance with Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations, HIM Department Policies and Procedures, all accrediting organizations, and state and federal rules and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. 1-3 years medical record experience required. At least one-year clerical experience required. Experience in a Health Information Management department preferred. Experience with Cerner Power Chart, Cerner PDA, and/or Bayscribe Transcription software preferred. Certification/Licensure: N/A Knowledge & Skills: Knowledge of Department of Health and/or DNV medical record requirements preferred. Detail oriented. Proficient computer skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
