Job Description

Position Title: Clinical Systems Specialist 
Department: Technology  
Location: Lakewood Office 
Reports To: VP of Technology 

Position Summary 

The Clinical Systems Specialist is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing Bloom Healthcare’s electronic health record (EHR) system, eClinicalWorks. This role ensures all teams can effectively use ECW to deliver high-quality patient care by providing configuration, troubleshooting, training, and system enhancement support. The Specialist also supports IT onboarding tasks, ensuring new hires have the tools and knowledge needed to succeed. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for ECW support, including troubleshooting issues, escalating tickets, and working with vendor support. 
  • Manage EHR configuration, including templates, forms, order sets, and clinical workflows tailored to Bloom’s needs. 
  • Partner with clinical and operational leaders to identify workflow challenges and design ECW solutions that improve efficiency and usability. 
  • Support onboarding of new providers and staff on ECW functionality and workflows. 
  • Monitor system updates, patches, and new ECW features; evaluate and implement as appropriate. 
  • Collaborate with data/analytics teams to ensure accurate reporting from ECW for clinical, regulatory, and operational needs. 
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, security, and data integrity requirements. 
  • Document procedures, workflows, and support materials for internal knowledge management. 
  • Support IT onboarding activities for new staff, including: 
  • Orienting users to company devices (laptops, tablets, mobile phones). 
  • Assisting with account setup, logins, and multi-factor authentication. 

Qualifications 

  • Education:  
    • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare or IT related field 
  • Experience: 
    • 1+ years of direct experience with eClinicalWorks (ECW) required 
    • Prior experience in healthcare, clinical informatics, or EHR administration preferred 
  • Technical Skills: 
    • Strong knowledge of ECW modules (clinical, billing, scheduling). 
    • Understanding of healthcare workflows (primary care, care coordination, billing, and compliance). 
    • Familiarity with IT project management workflows 
    • Strong skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ChatGPT 
  • Soft Skills: 
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills 
    • Excellent communication skills 
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. 
    • Ability to collaborate with clinicians, operations, and technology teams 
    • Customer service mindset with the ability to support clinicians in a high-growth, fast-paced environment. 
    • Adaptability to manage multiple priorities and shifting needs.
