UNCLASSIFIED VACANCY IN THE MARSHAL DEPARTMENT
THE ANNUAL SALARY FOR THIS POSITION IS $48,093.00
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; supplemented by one year of clerical or customer service experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required: Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) Certification; Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Network Operator Training; Security and Awareness Training must be obtained within first 90 days of employment.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Must demonstrate proficiency in essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all county or departmental policies, practices, and procedures. May be required to pass a typing test; if applicable, must type a minimum of 40 wpm using a personal computer.
Purpose of Classification: To perform work related to entry and retrieval of information from the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) and the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) systems. Assignment location may vary.
Essential Functions:
Process inmates into jail booking, fingerprinting, and update inmate records with court dispositions and warrants.
Schedule and prepare court calendars for inmates.
Disseminate sensitive GCIC data to law enforcement agencies.
Communicate via digital mobile devices with dispatchers.
Register Sex Offenders and enter protection orders into databanks.
Respond to GCIC/NCIC hit requests, perform inquiries, and place detainers/holds.
Process apprehension requests and court orders for inmate admission or release.
Maintain and update inmate records, warrants, and related data in Odyssey and GCIC/NCIC systems.
Monitor GCIC/NCIC terminals and clear invalid warrants.
Conduct criminal history background investigations.
Provide customer service via various communication methods, respond to questions and complaints, and research issues.
Operate office equipment and computer systems to complete assigned tasks.
Additional Functions: Perform other related duties as required.
