Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:
Duties and responsibilities included but not limited to:
As a Dental Assistant 1, 2 or 3 you will Assist in the care of handling of patients during dental treatment which involves setting up, missing, and passing of surgical instruments and materials, taking radiographs, patient education and giving post-operative instructions, cleaning and disinfecting treatment areas after procedures.
- Assist dentists and dental students with chair side treatment of patients.
- Maintain and stock cabinet
- Instruct and evaluate students in proper four-handed dentistry techniques
- Chart patients according to LSUSD systems
- Give fluoride treatments as directed by dentist or student
- Expose digital radiographers and expose and develop traditional radiographers and digital photographs (intra-oral and extraoral as directed by the dentist or student.
- Make study models from aligner impressions as directed by the dentist or
- student.

Location : LSU Health New Orleans School of Dentistry :1100 Florida Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70119
Hours of Operations: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM Monday-Friday
Appointment Type: This is a Civil Service position - Probationary Appointment -This position will require selected applicant to be in a probationary status for at least 6 months
Compensation: Rate of Pay is dependent upon applicants' qualifications.
This position is part of a CPG, as part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a (Dental Assistant 1 or 2) depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s).
