Discord & Reddit Community Manager (PT Remote)

Were seeking a talented part-time Discord & Reddit Community Manager with deep hands-on expertise in the Web3/crypto/NFT/token spaces and a passion for building and fostering communities. Reporting to the head of marketing, the right candidate will be detail-oriented, data-driven, and must thrive in a fast-paced startup environment to grow GigaStars Discord and Reddit community.

The right candidate will be proactive (not reactive), self-motivated and has demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and a strong sense of accountability. Must have a proven background in building and managing events and bounties in Discord communities with 25K+ members, and be incredibly active in Web3 and token communities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and manage online activities, and community events, set up and run monthly activations, live streams, and incentives to attract and retain new members and keep our vibrant Creator and Investor communities engaged
• Act as a technical expert on Discord structures, standards, and best practices
• Ideate guerilla marketing for growing our community in Discord, Reddit, Twitter Spaces, and more
• Adopt GigaStars brand voice and core messages while following compliance best practices
• Help manage support requests and provide assistance with energy, empathy, and a welcoming spirit of Creator and Fan community cultivation
• Set up new Discord channels for Creators and their Investors, monitor audience activity, and leverage bots and tools to ensure a safe and welcoming community
• Assist in creating posts and responses within GigaStars brand and compliance rules
• Celebrate and surface key feedback and stories from our Creator and Investor communities
• Shape the future of how we build trust and growth in new community segments
• Engage and collaborate with other Discord servers, Reddits, Telegram accounts, etc.
• Recommend improvements of processes and tools for product adoption and greater outcomes
• Set and track program performance goals through data measurement tools and dashboards
• Report on the results of each digital event, identify trends, and manage GigaStars brand reputation
  

QUALIFICATIONS

• U.S. work authorization required - No Visa sponsorship
• Passion for the metaverse, blockchain, cryptocurrency, NFTs, tokens, and all things Web3
• 3-5+ years of proven work experience as a Discord and social community builder specialist/manager/moderator
• 2-3 years of experience growing and managing Web3/Crypto/NFT/Token communities
• Experience with setting up and tracking paid social media efforts is a plus
• You're an active and engaged user of various social media platforms with a voice and personality
• Hands-on expertise with Discord, Telegram, Reddit, Twitch, and other social media forums.
• Exceptional verbal and written English communication at a native/fluent level
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while being flexible as our needs change
• You're a great communicator with the skills to convey information in a creative and engaging way
• You understand the mechanics of Discord, including implementing bots and interpreting reports
• The ability to identify and track relevant community metrics as well as suggest improvements
• Experience building & managing large online communities from conception to launch (25K+ subs)
• An understanding of data, bots, and best practices, Discord engineering, and setup
• Impeccable organizational skills, attention to detail, follow-up skills, and ability to multitask
• Experience hosting & moderating virtual events, and launching community initiatives (e.g. building online forums, daily polls, running AMAs, running bounties, creating an event series, etc.)
• Ability to navigate sensitive topics, ensuring a balance between aiding the community and remaining in line with regulatory and legal requirements
