Job Title: Drone Operator

Job Location: Seattle, WA 98108

Travel: 75% travel in the year

Job Duration: 6 Months Contract

Job Description:

• This position is in search of a skilled Part 107 certified operator with extensive experience operating drones via Remote Control.
• The qualified candidate will act as an operations specialist assisting in the development and test of cutting-edge safety-related technologies.
• The role includes mission planning and lightweight maintenance duties.
• The candidate should demonstrate attention to detail, a safety-oriented attitude, flexibility, and enthusiasm for cutting-edge technology.
• This individual will also conduct limited operation readiness activities and logistics planning as needed.
• The role will also require cross-team training to support teams such as (but not limited to) delivery sites for pre-launch tasks.
• The candidate will join a Research and Development team working on inventing and developing new transformative experiences.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of Remote-Control pilot experience with excellent coordination and execution.
• Employees must, with or without reasonable accommodation, be able to lift up to 50 pounds on some occasions, stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours (with breaks), and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Work in volatile weather conditions (heat, rain, wind, snow) all within the established safety thresholds.
• Drive to offsite work locations daily (work vehicle will be provided).
• Work variable shifts and schedules including weekends when applicable.
• Overtime may be required and approved based on work assignment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with the commercial UAS industry.
• Aviation safety experience as a Safety Officer or similar.

Degree or Certification:

• Bachelor’s (preferred, but not required).

Must-have hard skills:

• Experience in commercial drone piloting (bigger commercial drones).
• Flexibility and adaptability – schedules and paths changing.
