Legal Recruiting & Professional Development Coordinator A leading California law firm is seeking a Legal Recruiting & Professional Development Coordinator to join its Recruitment & Professional Development Department. This nonexempt position reports to the Director of Attorney Recruitment & Professional Development and may be based in the firm’s Los Angeles, Oakland, or San Diego offices. POSITION OVERVIEW

Under the supervision of the Director, the Coordinator supports firmwide talent acquisition and professional development initiatives. The role involves coordinating recruitment efforts to attract top legal and administrative professionals and supporting programs that foster attorney growth, inclusion, and retention. Success in this position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of the California legal market.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Partner with the Director to execute effective recruiting strategies and maintain candidate records. Coordinate interview logistics and manage candidate communications. Oversee due diligence for attorney hires and ensure timely completion of conflict checks. Collaborate with HR to conduct background and reference checks. Support new attorney onboarding, orientation, and integration processes. Maintain recruiting databases and prepare reports on hiring metrics and attorney statistics. Assist with organization-wide recruiting initiatives and related projects. Professional Development Responsibilities Support development and implementation of attorney training, mentoring, and professional growth programs. Assist with inclusion and equity programming, communications, and events. Coordinate scheduling for meetings, trainings, and professional development activities. Contribute to projects related to attorney development, training, and retention. Administrative & Cross-Departmental Support Maintain candidate profiles, collect interview feedback, and generate recruiting reports. Provide administrative support to other departments as needed (e.g., HR, Operations, Marketing). Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information and maintain professionalism in all communications.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred). Minimum 3 years of legal recruitment experience; strong knowledge of the California legal market. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to inclusion and equity in recruitment and development processes. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and applicant tracking systems (e.g., Dayforce, LawCruit). Professional demeanor and ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization. On‑site presence required at least three days per week.
