Job Description

10/12 hour shift Non Emergent driver, Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Job Summary: 

 A PPT Non-Emergent Driver responds to dispatched medical patients transport requests. Transporting to a pre-designated hospital, clinic, residence, or nursing home (following PPT’s Medical Protocol for Non-Emergent Drivers.) 

 Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years old to drive any PPT vehicle/ambulance.
  • Hold a current CPR card.
  • Hold a current, valid state issued drivers license with less than 5 points and no significant moving violations withing the last three years. For non-drivers- a current state issued ID. Must be approved through insurance company to drive with no watch periods. 
  • Must hold a current EVOC certification- can be obtained in house.
  • Clean criminal background check.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen.
  • Must be able to provide a social security card or valid/current work visa.
  • Must be able to perform the following skill assessments successfully: CPR, and assisting with Airway 

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to lift and maneuver 125 pounds, 250 pounds with a partner.
  • Must be able to move/change large oxygen tanks appropriately.
  • The ability to walk up and down stairs, assisting a patient in a stair chair or similar device.
  • The ability to sit or stand for long periods.
  • Must be able to carry/move/assist patient and/or needed equipment on foot in all kinds of terrain, IE: drive ways, uphill/downhill, throughout hospital hallways, residences etc and in all kinds of weather IE: rain, heat, snow etc.
  • Must be able to wear face masks and all PPE for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to see and hear, use of aids is permitted.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Must be able to read and write.

Responsibilities:

  • Must arrive to work on time, in full, appropriate uniform and ready to work.
  • Must clock in/clock out on time or as directed by your supervisor.
  • Must maintain good personal hygiene.
  • Perform daily truck inspections appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Must maintain cleanliness of the ambulance and stations IE: wash trucks, take out trash, sweep, mop, clean station etc
  • Must restock truck supplies as needed and appropriately.
  • Must respond to transfer requests in a timely manner.
  • Must communicate with dispatch, other co-workers, Hospital staff, the patient and patient’s family appropriately and respectfully.
  • Must understand contamination risks, how to properly don and doff PPE, decontaminate yourself, the truck, and your equipment.
  • Must know your state protocols.
  • Must follow your appropriate chain of command.
  • Must understand and follow medical protocol for Non-Emergent Drivers 
  • Must understand and follow PPT Standard of Care (arriving 15 mins prior to pick up) 
  • Must understand and follow the extended shift policy. 
  • Must keep certifications up to date and report any change in certification status. 
  • Must understand and follow all PPT SOP’s and policies. 
  • Must report any driving citations asap. 
  • Must maintain a safe and friendly work environment. 

Duties to patients:

  • All patient care must begin with friendly introductions to your patient and/or patients’ family if they are present.
  • Gather all patient care paperwork and patient belongings if any.
  • Safely move patient to the stretcher and secure with all straps.
  • Assist EMT as requested by EMT. 
  • All patient care MUST be delivered with compassion and respect regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, personal beliefs etc.

Prestige Patient Transport, LLC is licensed under Ohio law as an Advanced Life Support (ALS) provider. We operate multiple transport units from our Milford and Mt. Orab, Ohio locations to serve the Tri-State area.
In 2019, Prestige obtained its Texas license as an ALS level service and opened its first office in Victoria, Texas. In 2021 Prestige expanded to San Angelo, Texas to serve Shannon Health, as well as nursing facilities and outlying hospitals.
In early 2021 Prestige expanded to North Carolina, obtaining their North Carolina ALS license, and opening an office in Murphy, North Carolina to serve Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital. Later in 2021 Prestige obtained its ALS license in Georgia and opened its first Georgia office in Blue Ridge, Georgia to serve Fannin Regional Hospital. In mid-2022 a second Georgia office was opened in Ellijay to serve Piedmont Mountainside hospitals in Ellijay and Jasper, Georgia.
In early 2022 Prestige expanded to Chattanooga, Tennessee, and currently operate at an ALS level. We serve multiple hospitals in the Chattanooga area.
