Professional Staff Job Description Summary:
Postdoctoral scholar is expected to perform studies in Dr. Subhrajit Saha's laboratory under NIH funded project to examine immune regulation of intestinal epithelial regeneration, development of radiation countermeasure. Candidate also expected to participate in other ongoing projects such as gut microbiome in radiation response of intestinal and pulmonary tissue, examine the role of macrophages in gastrointestinal cancer. Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Perform research and interpretation of experimental results and analysis of data
  • Design and perform animal experiments to related to radiation biology and immunology
  • Generation of data and its analysis for the preparation of published papers, as well as assistance on grant submissions and other documentation necessary for laboratory compliance

Required Qualifications:

Education :
  • PhD in the Biological Sciences.
Work Experience :
  • 5 year of lab training in the field of regenerative medicine or immunology or cancer biology or radiation biology, which included running experiments, synthesizing data and writing manuscripts.
This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position. The level of degree is based on accreditation requirements, institutional standards of academic and professional excellence, alignment with peer institution benchmarks, and contributes to the credibility and effectiveness of the role within the university community.

Preferred Qualifications:

Work Experience :
  • Experience in mice genetics, animal studies including tail vein injections, flowcytometry, transcriptomic analysis.

  • Technical skills.

Compensation Statement:

The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
