Job Description

Our client, an Electrical Contractor, is seeking an Electrical Purchasing Agent to be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing electrical materials, tools, and equipment to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution. The ideal candidate has experience in the construction or electrical industry and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsibilities include procurement of materials, equipment, subcontractors, and supplies; negotiating/coordinating shipping schedules with vendors; working with Project Managers for pricing of materials, equipment, subcontractors, and supplies; and managing incoming material/inventory
• Work directly with Project Managers for bid/job pricing of materials, equipment, subcontractors, and supplies
• Effectively understand and communicate with the field personnel materials or services required and their procurement time frame
• Negotiate with vendors for the purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment, and services
• Create, review, and submit purchase orders on time
• Coordinate shipping schedule with vendors
• Manage incoming material/inventory and follow up with suppliers on delivery requirements
• Troubleshoot discrepancies between the purchase orders and material packers/invoice

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in electrical contracting or construction.
• Strong knowledge of electrical materials, systems, and industry suppliers.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with [e.g., Procore, Sage, or Viewpoint] is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
