An Exciting Opportunity:

Spectrum Chemical is seeking an experienced and proactive Quality Control (QC) Laboratory Manager to lead our QC laboratory team. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and regulatory knowledge to drive continuous improvement, ensure product integrity, and support customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise QC team members; promote a high-performance, accountable culture
  • Allocate workloads, ensure team utilization, and maintain schedule adherence
  • Provide feedback and developmental opportunities aligned with performance goals

Laboratory Operations

  • Oversee QC testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and final products
  • Ensure accurate execution of test methods in compliance with ISO-9001 and cGMP standards
  • Maintain calibration and verification procedures for lab equipment

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Champion a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure QC processes meet the requirements of FDA, cGMP, OSHA, DEA, internal SOPs, data integrity, etc.
  • Lead and support investigations (OOS, deviations, non-conformances) to timely closure
  • Support audits and customer quality assurance processes

Reporting & Communication

  • Generate quality metrics and statistical reports using Oracle and other tools
  • Interface with internal departments, customers, and suppliers to address quality-related inquiries
  • Monitor supplier quality and enforce raw material specifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry (required)
  • 5+ years’ experience in QC or manufacturing quality roles in a regulated industry
  • 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Deep understanding of analytical chemistry and lab practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
  • Working knowledge of Oracle or similar ERP systems (preferred)
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or experience managing improvement projects (preferred)
