Job Position: Special Education Teacher
Location: Rock Hill, SC
Description:
Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated Elementary Special Education Teacher to support students in a Behavior Support classroom serving Kindergarten through 2nd Graders. This role is ideal for an educator passionate about helping young learners develop positive behaviors, social-emotional skills, and academic growth in a structured, supportive environment.
Position Details:
Classroom Setting: Behavior Support (Self-Contained)
Grade Levels: Kindergarten through 2nd Grade (K2)
Setting: Elementary self-contained classroom
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized and small-group instruction aligned with students IEP and behavior goals
Implement behavior intervention plans and positive behavior support strategies
Create a structured, predictable, and nurturing classroom environment
Support students social-emotional development and self-regulation skills
Collaborate with families, general education teachers, and related service providers
Monitor student progress and maintain required special education documentation
Qualifications:
Valid state certification/license in Special Education required
Experience working with students with behavioral needs preferred
Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies and classroom management techniques
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
