Tax Preparer – Berea, Ohio Long-Term Contract | Potential Full-Time Opportunity | Hybrid Flexibility We’re looking for a detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our team in Berea, Ohio. This is a long-term contract role with the potential to become full-time for the right candidate—whether you’re an early-career professional working toward your CPA or a retired preparer seeking seasonal work. You’ll play a key role in preparing individual tax returns and, at times, assisting with business filings during the busy season. This position may also involve meeting with clients to gather tax information. Responsibilities Prepare and file individual and business tax returns accurately and efficiently Utilize Drake Tax Software to complete tax filings Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant tax laws and regulations Communicate effectively with clients and address questions or discrepancies Work collaboratively with the team to meet deadlines during tax season (Potentially) assist with business returns as needed Join client meetings to collect tax information Compensation Hourly Rate: Starting at $20+ per hour depending on experience, credentials, and designation. Contract CPAs or Enrolled Agents may earn more. Competitive pay for the right candidate! Requirements Preferably 2+ years of experience preparing individual tax returns (1040s) Familiarity with local city tax processes Proficiency with tax preparation software; Drake Tax Software experience strongly preferred Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills Effective communication skills for interacting with clients Ability to work onsite in Berea , with partial remote options Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Additional Notes Opportunity to transition to full-time for interested candidates Suitable for early-career professionals, seasonal preparers, or retired CPAs Compensation varies depending on experience #J-18808-Ljbffr Ohio Society of CPAs
