Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This position offers an opportunity to work as a part-time Teacher for Blind and Visually Impaired students in a K-12 school setting, serving up to four days per week from January through June. The role is ideal for educators licensed in New York State who are passionate about supporting students with visual impairments and delivering specialized instruction tailored to their needs.

Location: Rochester, NY
Duration: January 12, 2026 June 26, 2026
Schedule: Up to 4 days per week, Monday through Friday
Caseload: To be determined based on placement

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students with blindness or visual impairments, ensuring access to appropriate curriculum and learning tools
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Utilize assessment data to monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed
• Train and guide staff and families on assistive technology and accessibility strategies
• Maintain detailed records and documentation in compliance with state and district guidelines

Qualifications:

• Valid New York State teaching license for Blind and Visually Impaired students (required)
• Experience working with visually impaired K-12 students
• Knowledge of educational approaches and assistive technologies for blind and visually impaired learners
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to engage with students, staff, and families effectively
