Job Description & Requirements ~ Specialty: LDRP - Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum ~ Discipline: RN ~ Start Date: 08/04/2025 ~ Duration: 13 weeks ~36 hours per week ~ Shift: 12 hours, nights ~ Employment Type: Travel Job Title: RN – Mother Baby Unit (Postpartum/Antepartum) – Travel Contract Location: Mount Sinai Hospital – 1000 10th Ave, New York, NY 10019 Unit: Women & Children’s Services – 11B Mother/Baby Contract Type: Travel Start Date: August 4, 2025 Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), Every Other Weekend (EOW) Required Schedule: 3x12s  Beds in Unit: 23 | Average Census: 17.4 Union Position: No   Job Summary: Mount Sinai Hospital is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Mother Baby Unit on a travel contract. The RN will provide high-quality, family-centered postpartum, antepartum, and newborn care in a fast-paced academic medical center.   Key Responsibilities: Patient Care: Deliver safe, evidence-based care in alignment with the Relationship Centered Care model. Provide skilled nursing care for postpartum, antepartum, and newborn patients. Administer medications including Magnesium Sulfate (must be reflected on resume). Monitor maternal and newborn well-being, and respond promptly to changes. Educate and support patients and families throughout the recovery and transition process. Patient Experience: Conduct purposeful hourly rounding and bedside shift reports. Foster therapeutic relationships through empathy, respect, and active listening. Initiate and support service recovery as needed. Safety & Quality: Adhere to high-reliability principles and institutional safety protocols. Document care accurately in the EMR (Epic experience highly preferred). Escalate safety concerns following hospital chain-of-command procedures. Operations: Perform charge nurse duties as assigned. Collaborate with team leads to ensure adequate resources and staffing. Facilitate smooth patient flow and discharges. Professional Development: Participate in unit-based and hospital-wide committees and improvement initiatives. Engage in ongoing learning and support colleagues through mentorship and teamwork.
