Desirable to possess a Class A, B, C, or D Public Drinking Water Treatment System Operator certification issued by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Candidates with drinking water treatment certifications through other states who are eligible for reciprocity will be considered.
Incumbents in this classification operate and maintain a coagulant house and filter plant in order to purify drinking water for the St. Louis and surrounding communities.
This is a journey-level trades classification in the Water System Maintenance Series Water Maintenance Group job family within the St. Louis. Incumbents within this classification perform moderately complex duties with a variety of related tasks. The distinguishing characteristics for this classification within the series include ensuring the safety of the drinking water system.
Incumbents work under general supervision. While workers require some supervision in most assignments, they are free to develop their own work sequences within established procedures, methods, and policies. They are generally subject to periodic supervisory checks.
