Position Overview: Houston Hyperbaric Oxygen Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Wound Care Physician to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with a fully functional hyperbaric unit, providing advanced wound care services and hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) to patients. We welcome candidates from various medical backgrounds, including surgical, emergency, and internal medicine, who either have prior experience in wound care and hyperbaric medicine or are interested in transitioning into this field. Comprehensive training will be provided for candidates with no prior experience.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate and manage acute and chronic wounds, ensuring high-quality care for all patients.
Administer hyperbaric oxygen therapy as part of a multidisciplinary approach to wound management.
Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
Perform thorough patient assessments, order appropriate diagnostic tests, and monitor progress.
Educate patients and their families on wound care management, treatment options, and preventive care.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
Participate in ongoing education and certification programs related to wound care and hyperbaric medicine.
Qualifications:
MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school.
Current medical license.
Prior experience in wound care and hyperbaric medicine preferred, but not required.
Certification in wound care and completion of a 40-hour foundation hyperbaric oxygen therapy course (required upon signing the contract).
Schedule:
Monday to Friday
8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

HHOC became a center that was focused on providing HBOT for those that could not afford treatment at a local hospital or those with TBI, stroke, and other conditions insurance typically does not cover. HHOC is currently led by Dr. Allison Boyle who oversees as medical director. The mission is still the same, to provide access to low cost HBOT and help those with off label conditions. Dr. Boyle is a board-certified neurologist specializing in neurology and movement disorders.
We utilize four ASME and PVHO-1 certified monoplace chambers with Amron seals to provide 100% oxygen while we compress the chamber between 1.5 to 3 atmospheres of pressure (7-30psi above current atmospheric pressure).
