Position Overview:

Perfetto Contracting Inc. is seeking an experienced Safety Engineer to join our team. The Safety Engineer will support the company’s safety program by overseeing and coordinating safety efforts on a large construction project or across multiple smaller projects. This position reports directly to the Corporate Safety Manager and plays a key role in ensuring compliance with company, client, and regulatory safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) program on assigned projects.
• Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations; prepare and maintain related documentation.
• Support field supervision and project management teams in maintaining a proactive safety culture.
• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for field personnel.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NYC DOB, and other applicable safety standards.
• Collaborate with the Corporate Safety Manager on safety planning, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify and mitigate potential hazards to protect personnel, equipment, and the environment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in safety management within heavy civil construction (utility, infrastructure, or roadway projects preferred).
• CHST certification required (ASP and/or CSP strongly preferred).
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety regulations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with safety management software a plus.
